Mentoring Program The purpose of the mentoring program being implemented at the Bridge to Hope is to provide a group of young women with mentors to help them develop self-esteem and build tools for empowerment. For young women, having that one special person in their lives who sees them at HOPE instead of at risk, who sees them as potential rather than as a problem to be solved, will increase their opportunities for success. Over a year of research went into this project to develop an effective, research and evidence based program that will make a difference and be a success. Girls will meet with their mentors twice a month and attend a teen empowerment group, the educational portion of the program, once a month during the school year. The program will help young women develop the skills to go forward in life and make good choices, and choose healthy relationships. Many studies show that high self-regard decreases the likeliness that a young woman will enter into a destructive relationship. If you are interested in being a mentor, click here. Building Bridges Circle held for male inmates at the Dunn County jail, 4 week curriculum. The group is a preventative and educational program to teach restorative principles, cognitive restructuring education, and to educate young men on the cycle of violence and healthy relationships (this is not “batterer’s treatment”).
