The Bridge to Hope’s First Annual Prom Dress Sale

The Bridge to Hope’s Kick-Off Event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month will be April 4th at Menomonie High School, Menomonie, WI starting at 7:00 pm.  This year’s event will include our First Annual Prom Dress Sale.  We will be selling pre-owned prom dresses and formals at very reasonable prices.  All of the proceeds from the sale support free and confidential services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Dunn and Pepin Counties.

We are looking for models to participate in this event.  Model volunteers will be working with Liz Jones, Executive Director of The Bridge to Hope.  Anyone interested in modeling prom dresses for this event may contact Liz at director@thebridgetohope.com or call The Bridge at 715-235-9074.

We are also accepting donations of gently worn current, retro and vintage formals, prom and bridesmaid dresses.  Stylish Savings, a new clothing and thrift store in Menomonie, is donating minor repairs and pressing for the dresses.  This is a great chance to clean out the closet and make a donation to support The Bridge.  Dresses can be dropped off at Stylish Savings 633 Broadway, Menomonie WI 715-235-3383 or at The Bridge to Hope offices in Durand or Menomonie 715-235-9074.  Please call ahead for drop off times.  Pick up is available for schools or businesses that have more than five dresses to donate.  Please contact The Bridge if your school or business has gathered enough dresses for pick up.  All donations are tax deductible.

This event is in cooperation with local agencies working together to create a community response team for teen sexual violence.  Agencies that will be collaborating with the Bridge to Hope, attending the Governor’s Wisconsin Summit on Teen Dating and Sexual Violence April 15-16 include representatives in Dunn and Pepin counties from public health, law enforcement, local schools, Stout, Victim-Witness service, and other sexual assault agencies.  It is also an opportunity to increase awareness about sexual assault prevention in your area and gives students a chance to purchase freshly pressed pre-owned dresses for prom season at low prices.  Purchase, model or donate!

Enclosed are a few posters to promote this event.  Please post in areas appropriate for your school.  Also, please share this information with other students and your community through announcements, student newspaper or district newsletter.

Your support is genuinely appreciated!
